Who we are and what we collect

This policy explains how the ZAP group collects, uses, discloses, retains and protects your personal information when you use the zapnetwork.solutions website or contact us. It complies with Québec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as amended by Law 25.

1. Who we are

The site is operated by the ZAP group, which brings together two entities:

3. Information we collect and why

We collect only the information needed for the purposes below.

Contact form: first name, last name, email, phone, organization and message. Purpose: to answer your request and, where applicable, prepare a service proposal.
Newsletter: email. Purpose: to send you our news, case studies and analyses. You can unsubscribe at any time through the link in every mailing.
Communications with us (email, phone): the information you choose to share, to follow up on your request.
Browsing the site: technical data (IP address, browser type, pages viewed, date and time) collected through cookies. Purposes: to operate and secure the site and to produce overall traffic statistics.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

The site uses only the cookies needed for it to work and stay secure, set by our host Wix.com. Wix also produces overall traffic statistics that do not identify you.

The site uses no advertising cookies and no feature that allows you to be identified, located or profiled. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some site features may then stop working. For details, see our Cookie Policy.

Use, sharing and retention

5. Our EDGE sensors

Our foot-traffic measurement solutions (EDGE) use sensors that are incapable of capturing an image. They produce anonymous counts (number of passages, flows) and collect no information that could identify a person. The data is processed locally, then sent to ZAP’s own infrastructure, never through a foreign cloud.

6. Consent

By sending us your information through a form or by email, you consent to its use for the purposes described in section 3. We will ask for your consent again before any other use. You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to the person in charge (section 2), subject to applicable legal or contractual obligations.

7. Who has access to your information

Only the people within the ZAP group who need it to handle your request have access to it. We also use service providers acting on our behalf, including Wix.com (website hosting, forms and newsletter). These providers may use your information only for the purposes of the mandate we give them and must keep it confidential. We do not disclose your information to other third parties without your consent, unless the law requires or permits it.

8. Disclosure outside Québec

Our host (Wix.com) may store or process information on servers located outside Québec, including in the United States. Before any such disclosure, we assess whether the information will receive adequate protection, in particular with regard to generally recognized principles of personal information protection, and we govern the disclosure through a written agreement.

9. Retention

Contact requests with no follow-up: 24 months after the last exchange.
Information related to a contract or mandate: for the duration of the business relationship, then 7 years (tax and accounting obligations).
Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
Traffic statistics: kept in aggregate form only, without identifying you.

At the end of these periods, the information is securely destroyed or anonymized.

Security, rights and recourse

10. Security

We take reasonable security measures suited to the sensitivity of the information: encrypted connection (HTTPS), access limited to authorized people, authentication of administrator accounts and selection of providers offering recognized security safeguards.

11. Confidentiality incidents

If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious injury, we will promptly notify the Commission d’accès à l’information and the people concerned. We keep a register of incidents.

12. Your rights

You may at any time:

access the information we hold about you;
ask for it to be corrected if it is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous;
withdraw your consent to its use;
ask us to stop disseminating it or to de-index a hyperlink attached to your name, in the cases provided by law;
obtain a copy of the information you provided to us in a structured, commonly used technological format (portability).

Send your request in writing to the person in charge (section 2). We will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity.

13. Complaints

You may file a complaint with the person in charge (section 2). If you are not satisfied with the response, you may contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec: www.cai.gouv.qc.ca.

14. Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date appears at the top of the page. We will announce any significant change on the site.
